Where to fill your prescriptions
All BlueCaid members can have their prescriptions filled at more than 2,000 retail pharmacies throughout Michigan.

You may fill prescriptions at any pharmacy in our network. - Specialty drug mail order from Option Care
Specialty drugs are used to treat complex or rare conditions such as: arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, hepatitis C, and others. These drugs are listed in the BlueCaid Specialty Drug Guide (PDF 95 KB).
Option Care offers mail order service for prescriptions for specialty drugs. You can also fill your prescription for a specialty drug at a University of Michigan Health System pharmacy or at a BlueCaid-affiliated pharmacy.

Prior authorization
Some drugs on the formulary require prior authorization, and certain clinical criteria must be met before they can be dispensed. Both your doctor and BlueCaid must agree that the drug is medically necessary based on your condition. The drugs that require prior authorization are indicated on the BlueCaid Preferred Drug List (116 KB PDF).
